PJM’s Aug. 5 TEAC centered on near-term deliverability and long-range planning. Briefs included an interim deliverability proposal to bridge capacity needs while reforms advance, alongside planning updates tied to the 2025 RTEP and Order No. 1920 compliance. Below is the full meeting summary.
Key Updates
Interim Deliverability & Resource Accreditation
PJM discussed an interim approach to deliverability that dovetails with ongoing accreditation work (e.g., ELCC context presented in prior stakeholder forums), aiming to preserve reliability while reforms move toward filings.
Order 1920 compliance
PJM reiterated its updated stakeholder schedule: regional filing by Dec. 12, 2025 (six-month extension), with the implementation deadline remaining June 12, 2027; special TEAC sessions will double as scenario-development touchpoints.
RTEP 2025
With the competitive proposal window slated to close in July/August 2025, PJM outlined the downstream review cadence, TEAC reviews in Oct. 2025–Feb. 2026 leading to Board action—keeping focus on violations driving buildout needs. For more on RTEP 2025, visit PJM’s Review of 2025 RTEP Assumptions.
NextGen platform migration
PJM highlighted NextGen Phase 2 going live in August 2025, with TC2 and Cycle 1 applications migrating from Queue Point to NextGen, bringing dashboards, alerts, and centralized portfolio management into the interconnection workflow
Why it matters
The package signals PJM’s push to keep projects moving (via interim deliverability and NextGen), while aligning long-term planning with FERC 1920’s scenario-based requirements and the 2025 RTEP timeline. For developers, that means clearer windows, tighter process discipline, and better tooling; for states and LSEs, it clarifies when transmission needs and cost allocation discussions will hit decision gates.
